Defective Heart Girl Problems

In early 2012, I was diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm and a few months later, I underwent open heart surgery. Being the scientist that I am, I decided what better way to deal with a life threatening event than to blog about it. So I started Defective Heart Girl Problems to chronicle my experiences and to explain what was happening to me and why to my friends and family. 

Turns out "sciencing the shit out of something" is only half of the solution to dealing with having your check cracked open, so I've continued to write about my ongoing recovery and struggle with PTSD.
